A little bow to Brian Wilson.

I have to admit, as a teenager in the 80's I was quick to pass on that band, considering them too sappy and too "Americana" to ever find enjoyment in them. Later on, I could admit that the vocal harmonies were incredible. As I got older, I realized there was more than met my eye.

From what I understand, he was more or less waiting to die for maybe 30 years. I knew he was innocent and somewhat childlike while also being a genius. Somewhere in my 20's I heard he was doing acid as someone too fragile of mind to do so, and that led to his mental troubles. Later, I wasn't sure which of these came first. I still don't know.

In any case, I know he was a guy of sincere heart and gifted talent. There's always been one song in particular that spoke to me, and it only does so from knowing the innocence and sincerity that was Wilson.

For someone who always let the bigger things of the world that I never had any control over affect me, it makes it easy to imagine a very young and loving girlfriend who might not quite grasp whatever it is I am going through, but her solid support and devotion are more than enough to get me through whatever is troubling me. She doesn't need to grasp it all at my older level. Just being a reminder that she is there for me is all I really need. And whether it elicits a memory of a past experience or a hopeful future one(I'll never tell), it's a wonderful, soothing feeling.

I thank Brian Wilson for giving me those feels and hope he has found rest. Hopefully "she's" not a car, but I could probably still relate even if she was:p
