Years ago I approached a young woman asking for her phone number. A few moments later, her father shows up and began yelling at me because she was under aged. I apologized because she looked older. He then backed off saying that she's very tall for her age and looks older.
This is also part of the extending of childhood rather than teaching children how to grow up and function as adults. Parents seem to believe that anyone under 18 only dreams of lollipops and butterflies and magically become adults at midnight of their 18th birthday. I was 16 when I got my first job. I had to give my mom the money I earned for groceries. Fucking bullshit American living the fantasy. ![]() |
