I mean, sure, any major religion has spawned fanaticism and wars and evil in the name of righteousness for millenia, but what about logic and reason and philosophy and having a moral code beyond our animal instincts? Is there anything to be said for that, or is primitivism the way to go? Do we get to club our favorite little girl's dad over the head and take her in that case?

I mean, wasn't there just a rather well-known atheist not long ago who claimed he is culturally Christian? They did support the sciences and the arts for centuries. They did build hospitals and orphanages and space observatories over the centuries. I guess they weren't too kind to Galileo, but I'd need to refresh my memory.

Is it just Christianity you detest, or all the big religions?

Yes, I have a problem with pedo stuff being called sinful, especilly when it's not mentioned anywhere in the bible. Girl love, especially. If the bible's highest priority for sexual relations is procreation, then how is girl love working against that? It seems to me to be something more akin to a prep school for girls, provided their guy is a good example for choosing a husband later.

Here even marriage is a trashed concent to some. Everything is bad, fine. so what would be the alternative guide to living a good life within a community where people look out for one another and prosper? I never hear suggestions for what comes in its place, only that we need to "tear the whole motherfucker down". That has a bit of a scorned-juvenile feel to it to me when it doesn't consider what fills the void. Because personally, I don't trust other people to just live well and consider other people's wellness as much as their own without being taught that, some sort of Human Societies For Dummies handbook. Or maybe a Kindle version until the EMP sets us back a few centuries.
