Rich,

If everything you have written is true, then I commend you for looking out for the free speech rights of a minority group that is not currently recognized as a minority group, but is instead often considered to be sufferers of a mental illness that makes us some sort of danger to society. We NEED lawyers like you who recognize our right to advocate for acceptance of our orientation, for greater legal freedoms, etc., i.e., anything we may want to talk about or advocate. Our free speech rights are indeed linked to the general rights of everyone else. As long as unpopular speech can be censored at will by those in positions of authority, or by business institutions, then ALL imaginable topics are subject to censorship. In a democracy, the unpopular topics are the ones that most need protection.

We may need you, and others like you, very much in the future. There is no way of telling when our movement for emancipation is finally going to pick up speed, and when this happens, our freedom of speech is going to be the most precious possession that we have. With groups like PJ and AZ, who are actively trying to censor the right of MAA's to speak publicly and to have a voice in this society, attacking us constantly we need to remind people that we are supposed to live in a democratic nation, and that the very cause for freedom that the founders of America as a nation once advocated was considered unpopular at one time. I understand that we advocate for a type of change that may be scary to the general public, but fear of change is no excuse to hold back social progress.
