"Slut shaming" is indeed stupid and counterproductive (for those attracted to females at least). Bill Maher did a good piece on his show about slut shaming from the left (by the same blowhards who pat themselves on the back about how "tolerant" they are towards homosexuals). Sexism and sexual double standards (both against men and women) play a large part in the suppression of child/adolescent female sexuality as well as adult male sexual attraction towards them. So called liberals and conservatives, misogynists and feminists, males and females, etc. are all complacent in this. Generally, female sexuality is suppressed (especially minor females') and male sexuality is demonized (especially pedophillic males'). With the narrow exception of when it's channeled into "acceptable" sexual practices and mores.
