It doesn't even have to do directly with what the majority believe. The point is that you are questioning the authors, not the position, and yet posing as if that refutes the position itself. I could question the motives of adults to oppose youth lib; and personally I do think a lot of their opposition to youth lib really is selfishly motivated; but I know it's a dead end, a dirty trick, and an unfruitful road for thought if I did that, so I contradict their arguments rather than arguing "it's convenient for you to keep children enslaved" even if it is, as it mostly is.

On open ended pedo forums such as here or BC, there is absolutely no position on which you cannot resort to questioning our motives rather than addressing the argument. The tactic is so encompassing as to be, in application, unfalsifiable. One wonders why you even bother with people who mustn't be taken seriosly because we have ulterior motives to say what we say.
