Hi Ethan,

I don't know that we've cross-posted to each other before. If not, I've read your posts here and on BC since you've come, and I've read through your website to understand your views.

I have had the good fortune of meeting a number of the scientists who have researched our orientation and published or written on the subject. I say good fortune, because the ones I've gotten to meet and spend time with were very high quality people.

I've been around our community for a long time and have come to understand (at least I hope) some of the different opinions and viewpoints that pedophiles and hebephiles commonly adhere to.

I walked a close mile with a researcher that our community utterly rejected. I worked with Sarah Goode from the beginning of her book about pedophiles. Her final product generated strong feelings from a lot of BC'ers and GC'ers, and still does since it's on the shelf with other writings about us like James Cantors'. Since I got to walk through that whole multi-year process, I had a sense of the difficulties an academic faces balancing all of the different stuff in a project like that. And once someone takes on a pedophile research project, they become associated with it forever. It's a deep commitment I think professionally. Sarah is absolutely a very decent person. I didn't agree with all of her conclusions - not even the most important ones, but somewhere the conversation must start, and I did agree with some of her conclusions and so did most around our community.

And I walked through another journey that involved seeing how people in positions of authority see us. I went through a child custody proceeding where the sole issue was my sexual orientation. It involved media, expert witnesses, a three year fight, and a complete gag order about it. I learned a lot.

I like Dr. Cantor. I don't agree with him on a lot of things, just like Sarah. He is a flawed human like anyone - I think he probably got into this because it's very hard to distinguish yourself in academic circles, and notorious subject areas can be very effective career boosters. Look at Finkelhor, for example - he built his career on anti-pedophile lies, propaganda, and genocidal hatred, and has a centre named after him. It was certainly a career boost to Dr. Goode, but I would also say that she took a snowstorm of shit probably to balance it out.

Anyways, this:

> Paedophilia is, if you can forgive the term, an orientation

I don't know that he said it, I have experience with media and saw how they distorted and lied about things enough to not trust them. But if he did - James, grow a pair. In for a penny, in for a pound. Give us a reason to like you, maybe even to love you. The world wouldn't piss on us if we were on fire - we take table scraps that a dog turns its nose up at, and feel blessed and rich. There's no forgiveness to it - I knew I was this from the first months I had pubic hair and a desire to masturbate. Nobody would rationally choose this, anymore than you rationally chose hard cock.

It is an orientation, without any doubt, and absolutely no different than heterosexuality or homosexuality. I've sucked enough "age-appropriate" cock, pussy, and tits to know how telios feel about the whole business (what other option do I have?). It's no different for me in what I like, at all.
