Sometimes I forget how the vast majority feels about us

It's not 'the vast majority.' We've done the tests.

I feel like this is a very unique case - do any of you know of a child sexual abuse victim who was able to accept you as a GL?

For a while, a pansexual queer-tolerance group with a fairly heavy pedophile focus (because... there's just that many of them) also became the sexual abuse survivors' group because, and I quote, "those guys frighten me."

Of course, despite the silencing-et-al, it's not just the survivors, which is a big part of the reason why it's not the vast majority.

I still feel incredibly fortunate I have friends like I do - and now they speak out against ignorance on this subject too!

Yeah. A young girl in my life recruited a bunch of middle and high schools as a defense league. :)

I wonder... For gays it's coming out if the closet, so do we have a specific phrase?

"Out of the toybox" has often been used, largely for the lulz...

"Out of the closet," otoh, draws a bit on a tradition of hanky codes, drag queens, and other things. It implies one was in one's closet to begin with. I don't exactly see how it carries over...

Oh, how many of you are out, whether to one, a few, or many?

A fair number. Me, I've actually been in the closet - goon suit, pride pendant, and all - across a large area. One of the best reasons to 'come out' is to bait some prejudiced motherfucker into taking a swing or shutting the fuck up, IMO.

...but, I've also done that. I'm largely retired now, though I still put in minimums.
