Thankyou for the warm welcome, it was a great relief.

I'm sorry life was hard for you in your early days - it seems to be a common thing for all of us. I did go through my many dark years alone, so I'm now glad I've found this message board.

Hehehe, the days of hugging pillows, I remember that :)

I've not quite got my head around the topic of sexual play yet, it's rather scary. I guess it's easy to ignore it when you've lived so long without, and I honestly don't see anything of that nature being an issue - she considers me a friend, nothing more (as far as I can tell).

I too have learned to be happy with who I am. Believing that I can be a positive influence on a little girls life, helping them to happy, and in return, I feel the joys of her love and effection. I guess what I say and believe is much along the lines of the "hippocratic oath" you mentioned.

Of course, being children, they can occasionally be mean without thinking, not having the 'control' we adults think we have. I dread the day that she may unintentionally take out any frustrations on me, it will really hurt - but perhaps not as much as seeing her get hurt.
