GM: Amber.

I usually don't post GMs because, well, it's hard to get these experiences down in words with the proper feelings. They all have a kind of "you just had to be there" feeling to them. But some things about this one were particularly good.

I'm at work the other night and this girl comes in just browsing. She looked around 11 years old(I was dead-on it turns out) and very attractive. Brown, straight, shoulder length hair, slender, bronze skin, brown eyes(my personal fave), and very pretty face. She was wearing jean shorts, tank top, and sandals. It looked and smelled like she had been swimming that day(dead-on again).

She came in and out throughout the night just looking around. Sometimes she'd look at me and we'd exchange smiles. I wanted her to get close enough to talk to but she seemed kind of shy or nervous. I was wrong about that one.

I got off at 8:00. Got in my car. Looked around to back out. And there she was. In an SUV parked right next to me just smiling at me like crazy. I nodded my head at her and she waved back. Except it was one of those scooped underhanded waves. You know, the kind that means "come 'ere." I thought maybe she just wanted to ask me something but we ended up talking for over an hour.

Her name is Amber, she's 11, going into the sixth grade. We talked about ALOT of things. Mostly music. I gave her some cookies. That's what I do, work in a cookie store, a place with high GM potential.

The reason she was there for so long is that her mom works at the ice cream place right next to me. Very nice woman. Amber usually stays home with her older sister but just felt like coming to work with mom that day. I told her that I sometimes get bored at work so whenever she tags along with mom, she should stop by and we can talk some more. She said, "okay!" With a giggle!

The ice cream store closes at 9:00. When mom comes across the parking lot around 9:15 Amber goes, "Don't tell her anything I said." I say, "just as long as you don't either." We talked about boys a little. She's a good girl, but just curious you know? I also told her that I thought she was very pretty and she seemed okay with that. I got real scared when mom stepped around to the passenger side of the car and just kind of looked me up and down. I was like "umm...hi?" But she was really cool. She thanked me for watching Amber. :) Hey, no problem.
