New Year's Eve GM

After talking with friends for a while, I sat on the edge of a couch arm near the a door, several kids ages 3-6 decided to chase each other around the couch via adjoining doors into the hallway.
Every minute for about 15 minutes, these kids came racing in front of me. The younger ones placed their hands on my thighs as they rounded the corner.
A few minutes into this, a man pulled out a chair for me to sit in nearby. But did I move? Hell, no. I explained the truth that I like sitting on the edge of couch armrests. I did not mention the added bonus.
After 15 minutes a cute 3yo black girl came thru and put her hand a lot higher. :c) I was wearing baggy pants so there was no contact. It was still fun even though she was way out of my AOA.
The man was still sitting across from me but was distracted by a gorgeous 10 yo brunette stringbean who was all over him. She definitely had a crush on him, despite his wedding band. She later followed him all the way out to the dumpster in the rain. Ah, love. He got to carry her on his shoulders and toss her around and received several bear hugs. I was very envious. I just hope he's a GLer so he could truly enjoy it.
Later that nite, the band left except for one guitar player. About 6 girls (7-14), including stringbean, took over and sang backup for him and played the keyboard. They sang and signed in the language of non-hearing persons several worship songs. It was quite awesome singing those songs watching the girls giggle and laugh on stage, having fun. They kept turning the microphone stand, putting it directly in the face of another girl.
Just a tiny bit of heaven came to earth for me last nite. I hope and believe it is a sign of opportunities to come. Happy New Year to all!
