Generally speaking i feel that ones friendship with a LGs parents who know that you share similar values to their own, i.e. in your case sharing a religious faith in common, would allow them to feel much more comfortable with ones friendship with their daughter. I am certain that if I had a daughter I would feel that way.

Sometimes I think it may not simply be the issue of physical intimacy between ones child and an adult that is the "totum bonum" i.e. the entirety of their concern regarding such relationships, but also the possibility of ones child being inculcated with values contrary to ones own.
