Chinese New Year's Resolution: No more GM's

I'm tired of Girl Moments. Sick of them, in fact. And I just don't want anymore. Instead, I want girl seasons, girl times, and a life of girl-love.

In a way, we GLers are a lot like church-folk who sing and pray, asking God to give them "His complete glory and power." But they, and I, are often satisfied with emotional highs on Sunday morning. I've always said that most Christians wouldn't know what to do with the glory of God if they ever got it.

In the same vein, would we know what to do with true intimacy with a girl? So many of us survive day to day on girl moments rather than working to get the real thing. We get a high off a momentary erection or conversation with a girl or a picture off the internet. And that has kept us going for years.

Sometimes when I'm lonely, like today, I'll go to the mall just to girl-watch. In years past, I would turn to Sturges' or Mann's art. That is good and needed at times, but it is only a temporary salve to the wound of love. It keeps us going, but also keeps us from searching for something deeper and more permanent.

For me, GM's no longer satisfy, especially the ones I manufacture by going to the store or pool at "just the right times." I'm going to work my butt off this year to get myself out of debt, so that four years from now I'm not complaining about a lack of girl love in my life.

For most of us, lack of money keeps us from having constant interaction with girls. With money, most of us could move to an AOC-friendly country, adopt a child, or, at the least, work a child-friendly schedule. So I will stop manufacturing GM's for one year, and devote myself to earning money so that I can begin reporting girl seasons and girl times to you by this time next year.

So here is my last manufactured GM for the year. I went to the mall today and wandered around for a while watching the sights. I saw an 11yo brunette, just developing, run into a store. As I went by, she was standing very still on a mannequin podium in the window. I giggled at her, the cuteness of the moment. She was nonplussed at my giggling, so I moved on. I guess she was trying to be serious.

A good final GM for me. Now it is back to work for Guardian...
