I understood what you were saying. There is a big difference between being friends and being lovers. You can't be lovers without a sexual attraction. I imagine you could be somewhere between friends and lovers if you are sexually attracted, but don't act on it. But, in the absence of those feelings, you're definitely just friends.

I've told a couple of people obliquely that I just can't seem to find any women I'm attracted to - I never mentioned that I'm attracted to LGs, just that I can't seem to find any women that I find attractive. I get three sorts of advice:

(1) lower your standards; try some women you wouldn't think you're attracted to; give them a chance

I am opposed to doing this because I know who's got a chance and who doesn't...but still that's the #1 advice that I get. I tell 'em that I feel it's unfair to lead on some "girl" who I really don't find attractive. They tell me, 'no it's unfair to the "girl" to rule her out without giving her a chance, besides, what's wrong with having a little fun' etc. etc. etc.

(2) look harder

Right, like I don't see enough women anyway. Exactly where are all these magically-attractive-to-me women supposed to be hiding that I have to look harder - perhaps they're in the primary schools in prepubescent LG costumes? (Well, I'll be damned, a 30 year old that could convince any pediatrician that she's 8! Looks like I've found my woman!)

(3) find other things to keep you busy

Busy, sure. Feeling like a living, breathing human being, no.

I agree with you: sex is an important part of life. And since it's illegal to be even slightly sexual with girls that I am attracted to and impossible to be attracted to the ones that are legal to get sexual with, I do feel like killing myself.
