Leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma are cancers that originate in the bone marrow (in the case of leukemia and myeloma) or in lymphatic tissues (in the case of lymphoma).
The original poster is referring to leukopenia, which is another blood related disorder. I'm not sure whether or not leukopenia needs to be associated with cancer, but I dont think it always is. It -is- often associated with anemia, and whatever the cause of anemia may.
Since this girl has suffered from anemia or is now suffering, she is already blood-deficient and with leukopenia diagnosis on top of that it's worrying that she's not really getting treatment.

I really wish I had better information and a greater ability to help than this. :/
