I noticed lately that "Pretty Baby" will be coming out on DVD
in mid-November. About time!

Now if I could just find "Crows" ("Wrony") on DVD. . . .

And if any of you like folk music, especially in the Celtic tradition,
check out the Canadian group The Cottars. I think they have
just one album out, "Made in Cape Breton", but 12yo Fiona MacGillivray
has a voice that sets me trembling. Wow! Her brother also has
a nice voice - but he's no Fiona. Both Fiona and 11yo Roseanne MacKenzie
are rather pretty as well.

Has anyone here read "For the Term of His Natural Life",
by the Australian author Marcus Clarke? It is traditionally thought
to be a book about the horrors of the system of "transportation"
and the prisons in Australia, but I think I detected a hint
that it is an allegory of pedophilia - it may be just my imagination
but it can be read that way. Anyone know for sure?
Of course, that interpretation puts a different spin on the ending,
which is traditionally thought to be tragic, but is a happy ending
if you accept the cosmology of the author. (And why shouldn't we,
within the context of a work of fiction?)

I assume most everyone here already knows about it, but I just have
to add: Lawn Dogs - best movie ever.
