First of all, let me welcome you to Girl Chat. I have read all your posts to date and find them very thought provoking. I do think it would have been better for you to post them one at a time, giving people a chance to respond to each, before posting the next one. Please take this as a compliment due to the quality of the subject matter and the clarity of thought that you put forth.

I think that there are indeed evolutionary reasons for a coming of age of pedophilia. Neoteny, which as you say, is the retention of some immature characteristics in the adult stage of life, is a feature that is readily observable in the human animal. There is one more that I would like to add, which may or may not actually be neotenous.

Throughout most of human history, people and societies were concerned with maintaining a stable population. Wars, famine, diseases, and climatic change, all conspired to make life nasty, brutal and short. In addition to this, many pregnancies were unsuccessful and mortality rates for both new borns and mothers were alarmingly high. Children often died before reaching the age where they could procreate, and old age was at a stage of life that we now consider to be middle aged. Incipient nations, and their societies, needed a constant birthrate in order to maintain levels of farmers, warriors, and labor. Even Royal Houses struggled to achieve the live birth of an heir. I also think these factors also contributed to the institution of slavery, where one society would use the labor of another to meet it's own needs, and to the custom of Monarchs in one country marrying a princess from another, in order to solidify political objectives as well as introducing new blood into the Royal Family.

Until recently, procreation was the essential social requirement of a moral sexual union, hence, the development of the intitution of marriage and it's corrolary, monogamy. Now however, due to the amelioration of many of these negative ancient conditions, we have an ever increasing human population. In fact, if the world's population is allowed to continue it's acceleration, new threats to the species, which are already in existence in some parts of the world, will emerge and intensify.

Therefore, it would seem to be in the best interest of the human race, to channel sexual activities in another direction; one in which procreation is no longer the prime objective. It may be time, in our evolutionary journey, to change the role of sex from the monogamous husband and wife ideal, to an expression of intimate pleasure for all who wish to engage in it.

Pedophiles and children fit this dynamic perfectly as their activities are pleasure based rather than procreative. Could it be that we (pedophiles) are the wave of the future? Perhaps the sad irony of it all is that you and I may have been born too early. By the next millennium, and perhaps as early as the next century, homosexuality, pedophilia, geriatric sex, along with non-procreative intimacy between lovers of every kind, may be the norm. STD's will be preventable and if contracted, easily cured. Women will no longer have to put their bodies through the discomfort and risk of pregnancy. Babies can and will be produced outside the womb in special facilities especially designed for the purpose. And, best of all, children will be allowed to take part in whatever kind of sex they choose, with any partner with whom they feel comfortable.
