missability pension

i've been meeting, weekly, with a social services worker, down at the mental health center. it's a shaggy story how i got there, but the basic details are that social services - welfare - are of the opinion that i'm unemployable, and should therefore qualify for a disability pension. unfortunately there are no boxes on the form for words like prejudice and pariah, and i've spent a good part of the past few months getting shuffled from one department to another, until i landed at mental health.

i'm dealing with a social worker, not a shrink, whose job it is to help people get their pension forms filled out, and we've had some interesting discussions about my circumstances, over these past few weeks.

my position is based on the idea that no company should be obliged to employ me on account of the harm that might come to them by association with me and my nasty little criminal record. it's not that people refuse to employ me (although some have) but that i don't see why they should have to, and i'm simply not prepared to put people in that position.

said worker and i seem to agree on the basic premise, and it was he who alerted me to a report in the vancouver papers about the two men who were murdered across the border from here, so he understands the concern, and he assures me he believes i deserve assistance, so apparently we're both on the same page...

but that's not what he's putting on the form, and he explained why...

his opinion is that if i were to attempt to claim a disability on the grounds of my paedophile record, it would prejudice the adjudicator, and i would get rejected automatically.

lovely - rejection of my claim would prove that my claim is legitimate.

the claim is a long shot - pensions are not being awarded often, around here, and existing pensioners are getting cut off and/or reduced to penury by new legislations - something to do with the forthcoming olympics, i assume - and while i admit the money would be nice, and i'm already spending it, in my head, i'm really only going through this because it's an opportunity to expose yet another official to the reality of what it is to be an honest paedophile in modern (canadian) society.

i think i've done reasonably well, and i hereby promise GC will get a share of the proceeds if my claim turns out to be successful, and either way, i'm awarding myself another kill - chalk up another succesfull outing for the old albertRoss please.

of course, around here, it's like fish in a barrel - they go belly up and start giggling at the hook the moment you drop the bait in.
