dear GC - catching up, sorta...

the rest is just catching up...
tafkaps - thank you for the update, and... i never know what to say - you should know by now i'm rooting for you, and in my opinion none of this should even be happening to you. i'd also like to try and apologise for the last crack i made in your name. hopefully you didn't catch it, as it was pretty offensive, for all it wasn't intended that way.
emo - i noticed you've updated your tracks, and i will be carting them home with me, one track at a time (it's all i have room for) and thank you for that, and for posting all those lyrics. i'm a fan, i guess you know that.
ella - hi, it's great that you're here, and there's an awful lot in your posts i'd like to respond to, but they're all so far back now it'd be a waste, and besides - you'll soon learn it's not wise to encourage me. i look forward to reading more from you, and will meantime constrain myself to replying to your post on my other favourite topic:
my favourite book of all time is mr god, this is anna, by fynn, and i seem to be rather alone in that.
i'm a happy rotter fan too, although the last one cut me up rather, and i'm now not at all sure what i think anymore. i'm giving rowling credit for that - i'm thoroughly hooked, and i have to know how it all works out, and i'm gonna crucify her if she drops the ball - quaffle, i mean... i've an awful lot invested, emotionally, in ron and ginny and luna and neville, et al, but at the rate harry's going i think i'd sooner ginny married snape than him, and, like, heeeelp...
i'm feel like i'm being sucked into a teenage harlequin romance, and there better be more to it than that, there really better had.
speaking of rowling - i've included a post i wrote on the subject, but i feel like i'm giving away deep secrets in there, and maybe now is a good time to mention again, for the benefit of all the new (*) faces, that yours truly is bats - crazy - whacko - etc, etc.
(*) those who might still be reading this - hi everybody, i'm glad you're here too, and welcome to GC and all that, but scuse me, if you would, i'm too busy trying to impress ella to be paying proper respects, at the moment...
seriously - please don't take anything i say to heart, or try it at home - i'm out, have a criminal record, and i tend to give away far too many personal details, and i'm doing it because i'm trying to provoke reactions in a tiny town that seems dead set on ignoring me, and i'm basically only doing that because i'm bored, pissed off, and at my wit's end searching for things worth living for, in lieu of the children i feel obliged to avoid.
i also tend to run on, at terrible length, about nothing.
other books - i seem to be alone in this also, but diana wynne jones is the greatest author ever lived, and she's kind to us as well. this is particularly distinct (i think) in fire and hemlock, but appears all over her twelve series of worlds, and all her books comprise my all-time favourites - i return to them constantly.
markarba introduced me to philip pullman, and he is also the greatest author ever lived (as is markaba himself) only right now i'm bothered because pullman seems to have misplaced a character in the sally lockhart series. ms lockhart is older, and wonderful, but it's the urchins i can't forget, and the girl in the first book vanished into the london fog on me, and i've not seen her since, but i've not read them all yet...
that's the best thing about pullman - he's young enough that i can expect earth moon and stars of him, and be fairly sure i'm gonna get all that, and more.
another greatest author of all time is tove jansson, and if i should ever meet little my in person i will sit so still you would call me invisible, because i'd be hoping, desperately, she'd stay. tove is real magic - most of my other favourites, and there are far too many, and they're all the greatest, are about magic, in one form or another, but tove just is, and there's no-one like her.
what i'd like to know, and maybe i should post this as a real question, is who is everybody's favourite fictional character?
ella - if you still reading this - could i beg you to ask this question for me?
i'd get a lot more answers, that way.
i'm gonna attach a bunch of other babble in reply to myself here, since i think i'm probably only talking to myself, the mod who got the unfortunate task of slogging through my nonsense, and whichever poor rcmp (spells cop in adanaC) member got stuck with the job of keeping an eye on what i'm up to on here.
toward delight and all, aR.
