Of course, I suppose the issue here is not 15 vs. 16yo (UK) or 17 vs. 18yo (US), bur rather an age of exquisite beauty universally forbidden such as 10yo.

Even there, I can't imagine that most if not all people have found a 10-year-old beautiful at some time or other. In fact, I believe the main reason for the anti-ped hysteria is precisely for that reason--that the easy access to info and images corresponding to pedophilia on the Net has forced people to confront the reality that they had previously been able to deny simply because it wasn't something they confronted head on every day: that children are, indeed, sexual beings and are very attractive to a good many people.

Parents in particular fear the realization of an attraction to their own child(ren) and this is why they are particularly bothered by pedophilia. Clearly people are not so stupid that they can't realize the reality that we are not all sick, demented, evil rapists waiting to pounce on children or get them alone so we can molest them. No, what antis fear most is not us--it is themselves.
