It's hard to imagine an adult doing it for non-religious reasons. In fact, I can't imagine it. But hey, cults get people to do crazy things...

Aesthetics is the non-religious reasons. It's cute how you throw the word cult in there as if adult men doing it must be in some cult convincing them to do so. But as for the aesthetics angle..

As far as females preferring it--- it's because they're accustomed to it. It's 100% unnatural. But if our culture dictated that all girls' left ears were removed at birth, then everyone would grow to prefer one-eared females because we'd be used to it. A girl with both ears would look mighty peculiar.

Perhaps, but many adult men for some ungodly reason prefer women who have been electively augmented to have breasts bigger than their heads. Many people are drawn to those with tatoos, or metal shoved through their skin (and cartilage), or a "split" tongue. Are these people drawn to that because of cults that they are in? Just because you can't relate to someone finding something aesthetically pleasing, like circumcision, doesn't mean that no one would find it so.

Also, there is a fair amount of research indicating that circumcised men get less pleasure from sex, and there is plenty of data showing that circumcised men are more prone to sexual "perversions" (in the sense of deviation from the norm).

Less pleasure? The glans is desensitized due to constant stimulation as it is more or less always exposed. Does this mean that you experience less pleasure due to it? To really know this one would have to compare pleasure before and after the circumcism.. and we're talking over the course of a lifetime. It's literally impossible to accurately measure and compare the two. No two people will experience pleasure the same way, and you can't record pleasure over a lifetime of one individual of both circumcised and un circumcised experience. I would be interested in seeing proof that circumcised men are more prone to "sexual perversion", as well. What would be nature of such tests? How do you ensure that the test samples are equally representative of typical males of both classification?

Plus, it hurts like hell and it's a fucked up thing to do to a baby. It's a lie that babies feel less pain, or have "less developed nerves" or whatever other nonsense is spouted in an attempt to sooth guilt for harming children.

It also hurts like hell when the bottom of a newbown's foot is cut for blood testing, but last I checked they still did it. Indeed, babies feel more than adults do. Their bodies are new and their nerves haven't been desensitized by a lifetime of sensation. In many respects, it's a wonder that adults feel anything at all. Many people take their daughters as toddlers to have their ears pierced.. is this any less cruel? I certainly don't think so.

Now, I could be wrong on this, but I get the feeling that you are uncircumcised. If you are, especially if you're originally from a culture where circumcision isn't overly common, I can see why you would have such difficulty understanding the other side of things. If, however, you are circumcised, it makes me wonder what your motivation for this outlook is. Wishing your little guy still had his turtle neck and envious of those who do?
