I don't think GL's obseess about sex anymore than anyone else, probably less because of society's restrictions. We're more self-aware because of the taboo. We're forced to constantly question ourselves, unlike people with other sexual orientations. The objects of our affections are considered to be doubly innocent, by being both female and children. Women are considered to be more innocent than men, and children are relegated as being more or less asexual. One can look at the casual hyper-sexuality of the gay male community, the more regulated sexuality of heterosexual adults, the lesbian community where it's said that a lesbian brings a U-haul(signifying that she's already ready to shack up)on a second date.

We're adult males who have a normal sex drive, and we have to balance that with maintaining in a society which views little girls as the most asexual, and views those who are attracted to them as monstrous perverts. Of course they can't help but notice that little girls are pretty, cute, adorable, and bring joy to those around them, so they are quite conflicted by their own latent attraction to them, and often take out their own insecurity and anxiety about such things on us.
