I never said we should bend over quietly while they gang-rape us. By all means, Absolute Nothing is a good idea, because at least it puts our side of the story out there somewhere. But it is a fallback position, because we now have to play in our own sandbox since we can't play in theirs. At least you can reject their comments likewise.

All I'm saying is, we'll be locked into a perpetual stalemate on Blogspot. They have their sandbox, and we have ours, and nothing much else is going to happen. We can't change these people's minds (and they can't change ours), but we can change the world around them until their bigotted opinions don't matter anymore. That's not going to happen on Blogspot. In my post above, I mentioned public relations approaches, and I think that's the way the world is going to change.

And yes, I apologize for saying you guys fucked up. Obviously there was no other way you could have responded to the situation. You were right when you said I hadn't done my homework- but please bear in mind that I admitted that fact from the very first post I made on the subject. And in every post since then as well. I never claimed to deeply understand the history of this; I specifically said I was only responding to the surface level as I saw it. I wish I could say that I'd gotten a more favorable first impression. My point is that most members of the general public won't do more research about it, like I just did. They'll simply walk away with the same first impression I had. Do you disagree?

I no longer think you guys are doing the wrong thing, but I don't think it's enough. I guess you're doing all you can do. I did see some encouraging signs, mainly the fact that the antis keep saying things like "We can't afford to lose this battle," which indicates they see that as a possibility. And the way they talk about political correctness making it possible for more and more minority groups to become mainstreamed shows that they recognize this as an inevitable process. That's good. They just don't understand that they're playing the same roles as all the bigots who tried to stand in the way of the progress made in the past. The reason why things have come so far (or, "so far down the slippery slope," as they'd put it) is because their predecessors lost the battles that went before. Why do they assume it'll be any different this time around?

We can afford to lose this particular battle. We can afford to lose the next ten battles, even the next hundred. Because there will always be pedophiles. We've existed as long as humanity. We existed before the Internet, before television, before Jesus, and before there were any jails, laws, and lawyers. We'll continue to exist no matter what these people have to say about it. A thousand years from now, when Daydreamer of Oz and her friends are all dust, pedophiles will still exist. It doesn't matter how many battles we lose, because all we have to do is win one and the world will be different forever. But these antis, they really can't afford to lose, because all they have to do is lose once and it's all over for them. So you see, time is on our side, and it's only a matter of being patient. Given enough time, even a trickle of water can carve through a mountain.

The Catholic Church lost the battle to suppress the work of Galileo. White southerners lost the battle to keep blacks as slaves. Men lost the battle to keep women from having the vote. Straight people have lost the battle to keep gays in the closet. Each time, they say, "We can't afford to lose this battle, or it'll be the end of society." But every single time, they wound up losing anyway. The world hasn't ended yet. And antis like Daydreamer of Oz and the rest of them will lose too. But look how they still pathetically line up to fight the same tired old battle that those who went before them have already lost time and time again. Those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it. That's why they're so scared of the cat getting out of the bag, because once it gets out, all their bullshit won't put it back in, and they'll have to face the fact that they're dinosaurs. The world will move on and leave them behind, just like it always has.

I did especially like this quote, by Sues:

We have to take the innocence out of our children and have them view the world as a dangerous place. Where just walking to and from school might not be safe.

The funny thing is, taking the innocence out of their children is exactly what they're afraid we're going to do. Yet they're willing to do it themselves just to prove that they're right. Their thinking is every bit as warped and deluded as they accuse ours of being. And hey, if I took the "innocence" away from any of their children, at least I'd make sure she experienced a lot of physical pleasure in the process. These people want to rob their own children of their innocence and leave them living in a world of fear and paranoia. Hmm. Seems to me that if innocence must be lost one way or another, at least our way feels better!

And by the way, if anyone from Absolute Zero is reading this, thank you so much for quoting me on your site. You have a good eye, you selected a couple of quotes of mine that I'm particularly proud of. I stand by every word, and I'm glad that more people are getting to read them now. Thank you for proving me right in ever mean-spirited thing I've ever said about peole like you. I'd be honored if you continue to quote me.
