I didn't know if I would get all these responses or just a few insults complaining that I was over-analyzing the whole thing. Okay, maybe I was over-analyzing, but unfortunately that's how I am. I need to see answers for everything and I'm no expert on toddler psychology.

I want to thank everyone who answered, both on the board and in chat :) Now, thanks to that GM and you guys, I think I have a slightly better understanding of what motivates toddlers and how they learn.
