I don't think such women want to be raped...

...I simply think that a lot of females of any age enjoy "testing the waters" with guys they are NOT truly interested in, and then they freak when the guy takes their flirtations seriously and attempt to act on it. Then the guy is seen as being a "predator." As I said to Blondie elsewhere in this thread, it's VERY HURTFUL to have your emotions toyed with in such a manner. It's not a harmless little thing.

Because of these types of actions that I have been subjected to by women in the past (not just girls, but women) I sometimes find myself afraid to act on it when a woman DOES act interested in me, because I never can tell (at least at first) if she is serious with her intentions, or if I'm just some poor idiot that she is having fun with to boost her own ego. If she starts thinking I'm a jerk once I return the attention, then she should WALK AWAY RIGHT THEN AND THERE rather than continuing the faux flirtations until I become confident enough to try and kiss her.

Also, there is another thing to consider here. I DO NOT want to be responsible for making ANY female uncomfortable in that manner. I am totally creeped out by ANY female who comes on to me yet DOESN'T actually want me to reciprocate the action. Now, regarding Sophia's stepfather, I imagine that he wasn't a GLer, so that is why he didn't respond to her flirtations. But if she did that to ME, I would probably have been turned on. But I could NEVER be sure that reciprocating was the right thing to do, because in that hypothetical situation, Sophia was thrilled enough by the tension. I would have felt like a total fool if I tried to kiss her one day after she acted like that, only to have her pull away with "eeeeeeuuuuuuwwww, I didn't want you to do that! I just wanted the 'tension'!" Now I had to feel guilty that I upset her in some fashion. (Please note that I'm speaking hypothetically, as if it was legal for me to kiss a girl that age).

I think many things that girls and women do are cute, but deliberately giving out mixed signals is NOT one of them.
