My boy says there comes a time when you're gonna have to let go of your love, but I don't want to. Told me I have to let go, but I feel like I can't. I contemplate suicide everytime I think about letting go of her and it hurts.

It seems like there's nothing to let go of, because there's nothing of her you ever had except a few images distorted by both the media and by the attempt to turn a little girl into something else.

But what the hell? Straight folks have been Idolizing the dead on even more shakey ground.

Marilyn Monroe has become an Icon despite the fact that the "Marilyn" persona pretty well obscured the human being who it was smothering. Marilyn was an image of femininity projected upon a generation who were terrified of REAL women.
