Yeah, I'm sure their experience varied too. We certainly had some who it appeared had not done this sort of thing before, they coped surprisingly well I thought. The basic problem of people getting up and talking about themselves as honestly as they felt able is always there but it does seem to work. It was not all roses but people do open up eventually and appreciate the responses of others. That is what was apparent to me anyway. Some obviously gained more than others, we had a few who hardly changed at all and would probably be back in prison rather sooner than later. For some it was quite a beneficial experience and I certainly gained from it.
