Enjoy those moments.

I have found peace by enjoying those moments as they arise, rather than wishing my life was full of them. In fact, their rarity makes each one that much more special.

Have you noticed how many children can identify "us". They see us smile at them, and they smile back. They say "hi" or playpeek-a-boo. They sneak glances or wave boldly. They know they have our attention, know they have our adoration.

You have a gift which can often feel like a curse. If you focus your thoughts on the former rather than the latter, perhaps you too can find peace with your place in this world.
