IMHO you should've laid off the gun

Although it was a gutsy move on your part, because you used a weapon to emphasize your seriousness about being a pedophile your friend might think you're mentally unstable. No matter what his beliefs are on pedophiles, to go to the extremity of putting guns to yourself to send a message may have your friend wondering what kind of things will this "wacko" do with someone's child. Yes he is wrong to think that all pedophiles should be carved and quartered and all that jive, but why confirm stereotypes of us being like Geoff Leonard?

I think it would've been better to just be honest without using violence. That way even if he did point his gun at you at least by character you would be a better person. Once again, IMHO.
