You act like this post of mine really annoyed you...perhaps it's time that I stopped posting my GM's here.
Nah. They're good. 's just that posting GMs has always been a part of GC, and making fun of the poor sap is ALSO part of GC!
So, you have your fun, and let us have ours. Keep posting...
Did she actually know? If so, what were her feelings about a man my age looking at and admiring a girl her age? Was she repulsed? Maybe flattered? (One can hope). Is she immune to all the negative press she hears in the media every day about guys my age finding young girls attractive? What are the chances that she was a teleiophile?
Umm... dude?
She seemed to have a smile on her face when she turned around...
^^ that.
Well, that and prozac, but mostly that. In case you missed it...
what were her feelings> Was she repulsed? Is she immune to all the negative press?
...
She seemed to have a smile on her face when she turned around...
Is the only answer you're going to get. 'n as long as you don't put work into reading more into it, it's also the only answer you need.
Her feelings were... she had a smile on her face.
Was she repulsed? Do people normally smile as a part of repulsion?
Is she immune? Maybe. Maybe not. Maybe some third answer. You'll never know.
Whatever either her "immunity" or her particular form of "nonimmunity," its result in the situation was that she was smiling, as opposed to something else.
That's all you'll ever know. Since you didn't exactly start any sort of lifelong relationship or conversation, that's all you really need to know. And it is enough.
Now, to let you in on a little secret...
How did she know that I had turned around to look at her?
She didn't.
Or, to be more accurate, she didn't until she physically saw you do so.
All the time beforehand was spent not knowing your future actions. You're not schizophrenic. She's not an oracle at Delphi. The answer to "how did she know I was going to turn around" was "she didn't know I was going to turn around and look at her when she was turned around to look at me, until I actually did so."
Period. There are no other possibilities, because nothing else is physically possible. Either you turn around or you don't. If you do while she is looking at you, you see her looking at you. If you don't turn around, you never see her looking at you. You'll notice it has nothing to do with your choices - only your own perception does.
It really is that astoundingly simple. No voodoo magic here.
Incidentally... chill with the chronic anxiety disorder. Not because it offends me - it doesn't. Just because it doesn't particularly contribute to your lasting happiness.
