A few suggestions.

While some GLers may be tempted to lie as a way of introducing themselves; its not only bad form, but most girls will pick up on it. Not all, but most.

Perhaps its the TomboyLover in me, but I wouldn't much care for a girl who would put up with me being false to her.

And as for handholding; you move pretty durned fast on a casual introduction.

Again, maybe its just me. But unless I was her BF ( as I was with Beatrice, ) or in a relationship where close physical contact would be expected from a non ( as I was while being Ellen's stepdad, ) I've never found it personally appropriate in any of the other relationships I've had with girls.

Having my teen queen hold my hand to hers, or playing the victim to a 9 year old ankle-grabbing carpet caterpillar was a blast. But most girls are just intercepting my trajectory in passing and its not in the nature of the interaction.

But being yourself and being truthful seem to work wonders.
