If they both took drugs and alcohol, and then had sex, how is that his fault? If they got high together and had sex when they were out of it, then either they raped each other or no one was raped. You can't have it both ways

If she said "no", then it's a different story. If she said "no" or pushed him away then it was rape. We have no way of verifying this, however. I have no opinion one way or the other, because I wasn't there.

Why would she stick to her story in 2003, assuming it wasn't true? If your claims of rape had ruined someone's life, imagine how it would feel to admit that. I'm not saying she lied -- just that it's far from improbable.

The fact is, though, it's her word against his here, and if she had been 18, he would never have been charged. There's reasonable doubt about everything but the fact that they had sex.

You don't have to like the guy, you don't have to approve of people having drunken sex, but he deserves the support of anyone who doesn't believe that sex is rape just because it's with a minor.
