I see what you mean, but I am interested in both the image of our community AND justice. The two do not have to be mutually exclusive even if one does clash with the other on occasion. For what it's worth, she did say that she said "no" several times. I think Polanski should have been mindful about this and stopped his advances when she said that the first time. I'm not saying that all screw-ups are automatically criminal, and I know that the case probably wouldn't have been pursued if not for the fact that Samantha was 13 when they had sex, but I still think Polanski made a major error by giving that girl drugs and alcohol.
