What is truly silly is the assumption that history is static and unchanging, and that certain cultural mores and attitudes ever become graven in stone. At one time, it was believed that women would never get the right to vote or that gay love would never be accepted "in a million years" by society. Thankfully, women and gay activists didn't give in to such cynical, defeatist thinking. Just imagine what would have happened if they did. Despite how things seem now, this does not mean that things will be like this forever. As an activist, I have chosen not to give in to the "things will never change" type of cynicism that you have surrended to, and I have seen signs of some real progress being made recently. So go ahead and continue to sulk and resign yourself to our attraction base being hated and reviled forever while we activists move forward and work towards a better world. Giving up is not my bag, and it's a shame that you have done it, Luka.
