Adolescent GM (for all you Hebes)

I went out to eat with a friend yesterday, and as we walked in, I couldnt help but think the hostess (around 16 years old) looked familiar. She looked up at me and signs of recognition spread across her face. She began to smile and asked, Where do I know you from, you look very familiar? It took us a couple minutes to figure it out.

I am a volunteer with various organizations in my community and last year I had been assigned to help her and some of her friends. I only met her a few times. When I finally remembered this, she said, Youre right! Oh my God, youre amazing! Do you want anything to drink? Its on the house. My friend and I both got sodas. Rather than the waiter refilling our drinks, she came back several times to replace them, and she was giddy and smiling every time.

Its strange. She seemed impartial to me when I was volunteering. I wonder if it was just the excitement of seeing someone she recognized at work that made her get so animated. In any case, she was pretty cute (at least for a teenager) and I appreciated the extra attention. I am thinking about going back sometime soon. If she is there a lot, it might become a more regular stop on my restaurant rotation.
