A rant from me (sorry, I had to get it out)

I like them both too, and what a shame it is that they would consider me a disgusting perv for admiring their physical beauty in addition to all their other appealing attributes (such as their talent, energy, enthusiasm, and creativity) rather than being flattered by my admiration simply because of my chronological age. I believe that everyone is entitled to their individual tastes, of course, but I just wish I was totally confident that their attitudes weren't in any way affected by the ignorant cultural attitudes of their native country. After all, if it was such an unpleasant surprise for them to learn that a large proportion of their fan base were "disgusting" middle-aged men, then they need to learn a lot more about the culture and history of the island nation whose anime they love, as well as a few obvious facts about the nature of the male attraction base: many men of all age groups find the youthful appearance to be attractive, and we older guys can't all be expected to only swoon over the great "beauty" of 40-year-old women.

What is so "sad" about the fact that older men find such beautiful and amazing girls to be so beautiful and amazing? Do they seriously believe that every single one of us should only be gushing over middle-aged women? If it can be accepted that some people have tastes oriented towards members of the same gender, and that other people have preferences for members of other races, then why in the holy hell is it so "disgusting" and unacceptable for some people to have preferences for those who are outside of their age group? How can we be expected to place artificial limits on the great diversity in the realm of human attraction and preferences? And do these girls not realize the immense disservice they do to themselves when they not only insult the group of people who did the most to make them superstars by showing them such a great amount of respect and admiration? Do they not realize that they do themselves a double disservice with these disparaging comments to the largest portion of their fan base by implying that they can't possibly have any qualities that would appeal to anyone other than people in their own age group? Parden me and my fellow 40-something-year-old men for not being so shallow that we can only find the traits of 35+ year old women to be worthy of admiration and accolades. Gemma, Beckii, you girls are incredibly awesome, and I still like you both despite your nasty comments towards my demographic, but puh-lease! Give both us and yourselves a break! Your culture is so damn full of itself, and if it wasn't for older men like myself, you may not have even achieved the huge degree of popularity that you received on Youtube in the first place.
