I'm sorry, but outside of humans and the animals they've domesticated, it is NOT in an animal's nature to indulge to a level where it's a DANGER to them! Which is what you did infer originally, but suddenly even until sickness and death is meant to be taken as beneficial so the animal can fatten up and an opportunity to store extra energy when that is called out as dubious.
