Furby has many times stated that he is Roman Catholic. Seamus introduced Mary's age because he is RC. If we had known that he was a non-Christian, he wouldn't have mentioned Mary. Your caveat that the existence of Jesus and Mary is not proven, while true for history, is not relevant in the context of Furby who as a RC has to accept them as historical people. In this context, there is no debate. It is canon. Same as you just cannot say that Luke was not Anakin's son - that is canon too.

First off, the existence or non-existence of Mary was not my main point of contention. It was meant only for the purpose of comparison. I said that we can't even prove that Mary existed, let alone pinpoint her age. I asked politely for evidence, and instead I get a bunch of defensive attacks. Secondly, I already addressed this point with another poster about unquestionably fictional characters like Luke Skywalker versus people who many people believe existed and many do not. My point is that too many people here, including people who are not Christian, keep repeating this like it is factually established rather than saying, 'I believe this is the case' or 'some scholars believe this is the case.'
