If that is what he meant, then my bad. However, I wanted to make it clear that living today even a First World country like the U.S. if you have low income, and even with some measure of government assistance, is NOT easy. One always argues "well, it's better to live here than in a Third World country, so stop complaining and count your blessings" but that argument is entirely beside the point, because it doesn't change the fact that it's still difficult for many, many people to live even in the world's wealthiest country, and far more difficult than it should be. The fact that it's much harder elsewhere in the world doesn't negate that fact, nor does it justify the improprieties of the American system simply because it's worse elsewhere. It also begs the question of why people are starving anywhere in the world today when you consider the fact that the U.S. alone can produce enough food to easily feed the entire world, but I don't want to go there because I worry someone might accuse me of being a "socialist," and I certainly don't want that, right? If it scares Obama to be referred to as such, it should scare a little guy like me all the more!
