How is everyone? I haven't been around for awhile, but I had a fantastic GM today and needed to share. I hadn't planned on seeing her today, but I stopped to see her mum, Ann, for a minute while she was at school, with plans to go on to the grocery after my visit. So, her mother needed to pick Mary up from school, and since I was going to town anyway, we just combined our trips. We picked Mary up first, and then she and I went shopping while her mum stayed in the car for some much-needed rest. I bought her a chocolate bar, since she loves candy, and we had a blast.

While in the store an older woman came up and asked if she was my daughter. I replied, "No, but she might as well be, since she's with me all the time. She's the daughter of a friend." And to my delight, Mary said, "He's my favorite person in the whole world." Then, the lady said, "Well, she's such a pretty girl, her dad will have to beat the boys off with a stick when she gets older." And Mary chimed in (continuing to amuse me), "He already does!" Indeed, my little one already has a boyfriend at age 10, but what elementary aged girl doesn't these days? The woman, too, was charmed by Mary and went on her way. Mary has her faults, but I'll tell you, shyness is not one of them! Nor does she have any self-doubts about her attractiveness--she knows she's a pretty girl. I think, when she reaches her teen years, she will not be plagued with self-image issues that other girls seem to have.

So, on the way home she asked if she could come over to my place, and her mother agreed to it, so we came back to my place. I made dinner, though she didn't eat much as she had already filled up on chocolate. Naughty me--I should've doled out a small amount of chocolate until after dinner, then given her the rest. But hey, it's not like I have her every day. Afterward we played outside for awhile with water guns, getting each other well-soaked, then took a walk down the road. At this point she got a bit mischievous and started going into other people's yards chasing after my neighbor's dog, which had followed us (or rather, preceded us) on our walk. But every normal little girl has a touch of devil mixed in with all the angel, don't they? So once we got home we were both exhausted, and it was getting dark so I took her home. A nice day was had by all.

Today's GM is brought to you by the letter H and the number 2. That's H . . . 2 . . . Oh! :-D
