In the back of their minds...

... IF the relationship was consensual they will always have the thought in the back of their minds, "I liked it, I had fun, why did I like it, he was nice to me" Then they rationalize so they can more fit in with the common mold. It is much easier to just fit in instead of being one of the few dissenting voices, especially in regards to this topic.

And yes, news stories rarely, if ever, tell the truth. They are written on the assumption that it is always abuse and the child never ever wanted it, regardless of what they say and how they feel.
