You just never know about the future.

Because we are never given the Truth in news reports, I am, of course, making some assumptions--though fair ones, I think--about the following story which may be currently found on Yahoo:

"L.A. NOW
Southern California -- this just in"
"Facebook leads to arrest of man in O.C. sexual assault case
June 5, 2012 | 5:47 pm"

"In January of 1995, Hong, then 28 and living in Rhode Island, met the girl [12] during a visit to Orange County, authorities said. Over a period of nearly two years, prosecutors say Hong drove several times and finally flew roundtrip to California, taking the girl to motels in Garden Grove and Anaheim to have sex."

My first assumption is that the two had a consensual relationship. This lasted "two years", and the man had to come and go "several times".

"The incidents went unreported, and no charges were filed at the time. Last January, prosecutors say Hong used Facebook to contact the woman, now 29 and married to a police officer...."

It wasn't until "months later" that the woman reported the alleged "rape" to the police.

My second assumption is that no matter how good the loving relationship may be with a girl, she is going to grow up and change. Maybe marry a cop. Her attitudes and values and beliefs may change.

It is a sad, but all too often, truth which I think we need to keep in mind.
