...that just like Joey noted here, when I first expressed misgivings to Gatekeeper about his behavior at times on this board, I did so very politely, and in the context of respect for our friendship. And how did he react? By making it clear that he didn't listen to a word I said, and went on whining and raving about how I allegedly implied that he "has no right to vent," and other insulting comments, as if this board should have no standards of behavior whatsoever. And before you jump in and say, "Well, Gatekeeper has a right not to listen to you, and you know that," I will acknowledge that this is true, but I will also point out that making this choice to a long-time friend who approached him in a polite manner was highly disrespectful, which is why my second admonition of him dispensed with any pleasantries on my part, since he clearly doesn't respond well to politeness or decorum, these behaviors being inimical to him when he gets hot-headed like this. Accordingly, you have every right not to care about how people on this board behave short of blatantly breaking the FAQs, but I am thankful that I and others do.
