I certainly didn't mean to imply that the father was correct to murder the man who was (probably) molesting his daughter. Rather, a father is right to protect his daughter, and in this case it appears the girl was screaming for help. In such circumstances it is a poor father indeed who does not respond.

Within that context, it appears that the killing was unintentional. Fistfights are sometimes fatal. It's rare, but it sometimes happens. If that is what happened, if the killing was unintentional, and if the death occurred as an accidental consequence of the dead man imposing himself on this girl - well, I, at least, will put the blame squarely on the dead man.

Naturally, all the facts will need to be determined after an investigation, and unfortunately we cannot be assured that that investigation will be impartial. Aside from the question of whether this can be investigated fairly, however, I will not be particularly concerned in this case. It is not a question of a father hunting someone down weeks after the fact - it is a question of a father defending his child when she needed to be defended.
