First, CCleaner does more than wipe freespace; it also wipes the recycle bin as many times as you would like. Simply send the file to the recycle bin; I have mine currently set to seven wipes.

Second, I had AVG on my computer and got rid of it, replacing it with Avast, which is vastly superior.
AVG would tell me: "There is a virus on the computer; what should I do?"
Avast stops it from getting on in the first place, and updates itself continually and automatically. A big improvement.

If you ever have a spare $69, get Bestcrypt. It is worth it, especially the BC Wipe function.
Down below there is a reply to Oakowi's original post on the subject in which a poster explains a big problem with Trucrypt if you are using it to encrypt an entire drive. It has other problems, also.
