This legislation WILL eventually get rid of insurance agencies. If you look at the progressive increases in penalties and "taxes," it will force more and more employers (and employees) to seek the cheaper government option. BUT, it will only be "cheaper" for about 2 years, and has built in increases over time. On top of that, government does not have to make a profit, so will be able to (and will) undersell the private providers, eventually running them out of business. Then the government will swoop in with a Socialized single payer system, essentially lowering our healthcare standards in the US.

The ONLY thing I like about the bill (and this could be accomplished without all the additional bullshit) is that companies will be forced to accept per-existing conditions. But that is going to help drive them out of business all the faster.

"Free healthcare" isn't free. Someone has to pay for it. That someone will be those who get off their asses and work. The welfare sluggards will stay just as they are and get even more of a free ride. I speak generally - I understand there are some who can not work for whatever reason, but that is not the case with the vast majority of welfare recipients.

I am just sick of our country, in general. Both major parties suck.
