Baldur, I can only assume that you're just not aware of the MANY laws that already make this the case for several different products. The court ruled that it was constitutional "as a tax" so, as far as I can tell, supporters of the Health Care law got exactly what they wanted. We all pay a little more in taxes which ensures that we all have health care. And it's not all that different from the way other countries do it. In England, that money still has to eventually end up in the hands of hospital administrators and such, just as it will here. The problem, of course, is that now we have insurance companies as middle men, which is going to do nothing but add an extra layer of red tape and bullshit to the process. Still, if you really look at this compared to the way "socialized medicine" is done in other countries, the results themselves are not all that different.
My only objection to it is the inclusion of insurance companies. Health Care Reform was meant to get rid of them! THEY are the major problem with our current fucked up system and now we're keeping them! Ick!
