Great post, Baldur. You explained it probably better than I could. Thanks for saving me the trouble. Hopefully, it was an educational experience for him, although considering he says he's mostly libertarian, you'd figure he'd be familiar with these themes already. Many libertarian intellectuals have already gone into great detail explaining these distinctions and how they pertain to Obama. Calling Obama a "socialist" is really lowest common denominator material that intellectually dishonest partisan Republicans push to their susceptible pack of politically uneducated people to appeal to their base instincts.
