There's no way that they can prove that he knew the LG was just someone roleplaying, and they'd likely doubt him because he's a nasty pedophile.

If you got a good enough lawyer, the lawyer might be able to convince them that you just thought you were roleplaying, but even then, they'll probably figure "well if he's roleplaying with someone pretending to be underage, then he is obviously interested in underage girls. He's as bad as any other child molester."

A lot of people feel as though all of us should be locked up, regardless of whether or not we've ever done anything. They think that we all are criminals or will be criminals if given the chance. It's a shame that the only references you ever hear to pedophiles by nons is "child molesters." And whether or not the girl actually wants it, they assume the "child molester" tricked her, or forced himself on her, no matter what the situation actually is like.

Also, I really wonder how often pedophiles really try to meet underage girls in real life after an internet chat without any proof that she's actually a LG or an AG. Most of the pedophiles I've ever heard about who did anything were generally in some sort of position of trust with the girls. Maybe a relative or a baby sitter. Other than "To Catch a Predator," I've never really seen, talked to, or heard of pedophiles meeting up with some girl they talked to in a chat room one night.
