You mean that you don't bury your nail-clippings with great pomp, and invoke ancient ceremonial incantations over them?

And yes. Since we shed more cells in our lifetime than are present in us at death, why must we presume that a complete "soul" flees our dead-tissues-as-they-comprise-"corpse" and didn't ( at least partially ) depart when previous tissues died?

In fact, if the soul resides in us in-full at birth. Then hasn't one lost most of the soul to whatever afterlife awaits dander?

Perhaps this is why we go from innocent cherub to dirty old man. The soul was sloughed-off long ago.
